 2022 31st Annual CWS State Watercolor Exhibition

 

Liability: 

Neither the exhibiting venue, nor the Colorado Watercolor Society nor their Officers, staff, or volunteers, nor any receiving or shipping agent will be liable for loss or damage to any artwork submitted to this Exhibition.  Insurance of the artwork is the responsibility of the individual artist. 

Use of Images:

The Artist grants the Colorado Watercolor Society and the exhibiting venue permission to photograph artwork submitted to this exhibit, and images of selected artwork may be used for publicity, including a catalog, web gallery, or slide show, at the discretion of CWS and the exhibiting venue.

Covid Waiver:  The World Health Organization has declared the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) a worldwide pandemic. Due to its capacity to transmit from person-to-person through respiratory droplets the CDC has issued recommendations for  individuals to reduce their risk of exposure to the novel coronavirus and has advised older adults and individuals with underlying health conditions to exercise special caution.

By entering this Exhibition: 

• I am fully and personally responsible for my own safety and actions while and during my participation and I recognize that I may be at risk of contracting COVID-19. 
• With full knowledge of the risks involved, I hereby release, waive, discharge the Colorado Watercolor Society, its board, officers, volunteers, independent contractors, affiliates, employees, representatives, successors, and assigns (collectively "CWS") from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death, that may be sustained by me related to COVID-19 while participating in any activity with the CWS  while in, on, or around the premises or while using the facilities that may lead to unintentional exposure or harm due to COVID-19. 
• I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CWS from and against any and all costs, expenses, damages, lawsuits, and/or liabilities or claims arising whether directly or indirectly from or related to any and all claims made by or against any of the released party due to injury, loss, or death from or related to COVID-19. 
• I acknowledge I am at least eighteen (18) years old and fully competent to agree to this waiver and sufficiently informed of the risks involved in entering this Exhibition.

Entry Requirements .  Paintings must be predominantly water media watercolor, acrylic, gouache, casein or tempera on paper, synthetic paper, or watercolor paper on an aluminum or wood panel. Painting must have been completed within the last two years starting from Jan. 1, 2020, to present.  Painting may not have been shown in an exhibit sponsored by any watercolor society in Colorado, including a CWS exhibit. Artist’s original work only. No copies or likenesses of another artist’s work. No copies or partial copies of any published source whether copyrighted or not copyrighted. No copies of any published material on the internet, videos, magazines, or newspapers. Your photos must be your own taken by yourself. No use of other people’s photos, even if given permission, because it is their vision, not yours. No work done in a class or workshop or under the direction of anyone but yourself. Any collage material must be produced by yourself. No computer generated or digital art will be accepted. The painting must be painted by one person, yourself. You may be asked to provide your photo if there is any question of originality. Anything other than original is plagiarism. 

Rules/Read Carefully. The artist's signature should appear on the front of the painting. CWS reserves the right to refuse any painting that does not comply with the requirements stated in this call for entry or does not match the sumbmitted image.  All information privided, including price, is final and may not be changed after the sumbmission deadline. Accepted artwork must be on display for the duration of this exhibit and may not be shown in another exhibit, virtual or in person, during this exhibit.   Failure to comply with these rules or meet any requirements in this call for entry may result in disqualification of your entry, ineligibility to enter future CWS exhibits for a minimum of two years and a forfeiture of any award. If you fail to deliver your work, if it is accepted, you will be ineligible to enter future CWS exhibits for a minimum of two years.
